About #ScribeChat and The ScribeChat Review

by Lia Keyes on January 4, 2010

What:

SCRIBECHAT is a weekly moderated chat for Twitter users, focusing on all aspects of writing, editing, marketing and publishing fiction and non-fiction in a changing industry.

When:

Every Thursday at 6PM PT, continuing until 7:15 pm  (7 – 8.15 pm ET). Though we often run longer…

Where:

On Twitter, but it’s much easier if you use a filtering system likeTweetChat or TweetDeck.

Why:

Writers no longer have to live solitary lives! ScribeChat is our cyberspace cafe, where we share the journey, network, share solutions to writing and publishing challenges, and just have a laugh.

The ScribeChat Twibe:

For daily tweets relating to fiction or non-fiction that may be of interest to our writers, I have started a #ScribeChat Twibe. Our Twibe is a Twitter group for #ScribeChat members. Visit http://twibes.com/ScribeChat to join.

The Social Network: Scribblerati

A community of writers and illustrators where you can connect and share 24/7  without the limitation of 140 characters at SCRIBBLERATI.

Transcripts:

Transcripts for the chats are posted here and at The ScribeChat Review the next day (or sooner) and a tweet is posted on Twitter when the transcript is live. Participants are free to continue chatting past 7PM. There are many other writing/publishing related chats on twitter. @inkyelbows has compiled a list and helpful guide to twitter chats here.

JOIN THE CHAT:

Just include the hashtag #ScribeChat in your tweets at any time, or click on this sentence to use Tweetchat (my favorite). The moderated chat is on Thursdays at 6 pm Pacific or 9 pm Eastern.
