This week’s chat marks the inaugural ScribeChat Book Club discussion. Kristi from The Editorial Department will lead a discussion on Betsy Lerner’s THE FOREST FOR THE TREES.

Calling upon her decades of editing experience, Betsy provides writers with a look at the inner workings of a major publishing house and inside the mind of an editor. With topics like “The Ambivalent Writer” and “What Editors Want”, Betsy shares a warm, humorous view of neurotic writers and harried editors, and demonstrates her love of the written word.

The chat will take a closer look at the archetypes of writers presented in the book, and will explore the strengths and weaknesses of each. We’ll also pore over Lerner’s ideas about the myths and realities of the editor/author relationship. Bring your questions, your opinions, and most of all your enthusiasm, and join us for the best new book club on the block!

After the chat, the discussion will continue on our new e-mail list at The ScribeChat Book Club. Sign up to join the discussion and keep tabs on upcoming books, chats, and discussions.
