DIRECTORY: Undiscovered Writing Talent on Twitter

by Lia Keyes on March 8, 2010 · 15 comments

Pre-published writers find it hard to get noticed, and editors and agents find it hard to get through the slush pile looking for talent. On top of that, in today’s marketplace, they’re not just looking for talent, but media-savvy writers willing to promote themselves. So how do they find all that quickly and easily? Check out Scribechat’s Undiscovered Talent on Twitter and click on the links. A quick scan of these writers’ tweets and blogs might be enough to spark some interest and form a connection.

Writer of all things fantasy/sci-fi, be it adult, YA, dark or otherwise. I’m represented by the fantastic Ken Atchity of AEI. It’s my mission to share my journey and make it easier for other aspiring writers to find answers to those elusive questions in the literary world. And I’m a huge supporter of debut authors! @junegoodwin/ June Goodwin, Young Adult

I’m an aspiring YA writer with two YA Works-In-Progress. I maintain a literary blog and my goal is to help and get as many people reading and involved in the written word as possible. Book reviews, giveaways, the craft of writing and what I learn on my journey toward publication are all part of the mix. I counsel children who are classified as Emotionally Disturbed.

@lioncaller / Claudia Putnam, literary fiction and poetry

There’s more information about me on my site & blog, http://www.claudiaputnam.com, or at my second blog, Lion’s Eye (http://lionseye.wordpress.com). I write character-based fiction in which the landscapes are as important as the people. My adult literary stories and poems are widely published, and I’ve received a residency fellowship from the Ragdale Foundation, a highly competitive artists’ colony. A full YA MS won first prize at the Pike’s Peak Writers’ Conference contest, and I’ve also had an SCBWI honorable mention. I’ve attended selective workshops such as the Highlights Founders’ Workshop with Patti Gauch and the Rutgers One-on-One Conference, as well as a number of master classes, on-line, and summer workshops. A former University of Colorado writing instructor, I now develop web content and do social media strategy for Microsoft.
