Nicky Schmidt grew up listening to her grandmother’s stories, so it was no small wonder that story-telling became a lifelong love affair.  She wrote her first play at the age of 8 and charged the neighbourhood kids to watch it!  After over 15 years in marketing, Nicky left the corporate world to follow a dream. She now writes YA fiction – stories involving life, love, horror, drama and adventure in the fantasy, paranormal and supernatural genres.  She is also a freelance writer and photographer, and occasionally consults on marketing & communications strategies.
